Craig Terry

Craig Terry is a Registered Land Surveyor and has been a Director of PDA Surveyors for more than 25 years. Craig has over 30 years’ experience in all aspects of surveying including mine surveying, engineering surveying, strata subdivision and cadastral surveying. Having been involved in the surveying profession for all of his working life Craig has always sought to contribute to the profession and is currently Chairman of the Institute of Surveyors Tasmania. During his surveying career he has been involved in many very large and complex rural surveys of some of Tasmania’s large rural properties.

Craig has been innovative in a number of large Strata subdivisions and has expert knowledge in strata developments and the ongoing management through Stratum Title Management (Tasmania), a subsidiary company that he manages. Extensive involvement in a number of large estate developments in and around Hobart has given Craig expert knowledge of planning schemes, the planning process, development approvals and project management. Craig is able to provide expert professional advice in any project large or small.

John Dent

John is a Registered Land Surveyor and has been a director of PDA Surveyors since 2000 after merging with Campbell Smith Phelps Pedley (CSPP) surveyors. John became a director of CSPP in 1985 where he led the firm in the adoption of the new technologies of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and undertook the first commercial GPS survey in Tasmania in 1989.

John has managed the Launceston office since 2000 and the Deloraine office since 1985. His knowledge of the subdivision provisions in planning schemes ensures his clients have the best chance of obtaining an approval from Council. John was a member of the Surveyors Board for 7 years and was awarded an OAM in 2006 for his extensive involvement with a wide range of community activities. With 30 year’s experience John has developed an extensive knowledge of the subdivision process and is able to assist clients in all aspects of property development.

Alan Hudson

Alan joined PDA shortly after graduating from university in 1980. He was instrumental in encouraging PDA to invest in the evolving computer and survey instrument technology. He joined with others in the company to develop calculation and data collection software that provided state of the art solutions for many years. Alan excels in innovative solutions and initiated measurement solutions. Alan was registered in 1985 and became a PDA director that same year, running the Burnie Office.

Alan has worked for local mines both open cut and underground providing consulting services from total mine survey to monthly Bank Cubic Metres and stockpile volumes. He has provided professional services to a number of mines since the early stages of project development. His knowledge and practical experience is all inclusive in land development. From planning to project construction Alan can provide creative solutions for developers that cater for the fluctuating local market conditions.

Adrian Eberhardt

Adrian graduated from UTAS in 2004 with a Bachelor of Geomatics. Adrian gained certification as a Registered Land Surveyor in 2008 under the supervision of former PDA Surveyors Director Brian Rollins. Adrian has been a Director of PDA Surveyors since 2012 and is located in the Burnie Office.

Adrian has experience in all forms of cadastral and engineering surveys and uses his knowledge of modern technologies along with practical experience to gain the desired outcome in the most efficient way.

Hugh Clement

After graduating in 1997 from the University of Tasmania Hugh worked throughout mainland Australia on major infrastructure projects specialising in gas and water pipe line construction. Hugh commenced with PDA Surveyors in 2001 and was registered as a Land Surveyor in September 2007. Hugh became a Director of PDA Surveyors in July 2008 and has had over 15 years’ experience undertaking cadastral and engineering surveys of all types and sizes, with a particular focus on industrial and alignment surveys.

Hugh works from both the Hobart and Huonville offices, providing a local point of contact for clients based in the Huon Valley and further south.

Hugh has been on the board of the Spatial Science Institute and subsequent Surveying and Spatial Science Institute from 2007-2012 including terms as Regional Chair, Treasurer and a National Director. Hugh is also a member of the Institute of Surveyors Tasmania and is has given guest lecturers at the University of Tasmania.

Alexander (Lex) McIndoe

Lex joined PDA Surveyors in 1980 after completing university in Hobart and working for a year with the then Hydro-Electric Commission survey section. Lex became a Registered Land Surveyor and Director with PDA in 1984 managing the Kingston Office.

Lex has wide experience in all types of surveys including cadastral, engineering, detail and Strata surveys. He has a very broad range of clients including government, local councils, large and small business/developers and private individuals.

Lex has extensive knowledge in dealing with all the relevant authorities to obtain any of the planning permits to undertake any form of development or subdivision.

Lex is also a major supporter of many community and sports organisations at both local and State levels assisting as both a leader and in administration. These include Rotary International, Scouts Australia and Pony Club.

Matthew Denholm

Matt is a Registered Land Surveyor who joined PDA Surveyors in 2014 and became a partner and company Director in 2017.  Based in Hobart, he has over ten years’ industry experience working on a diverse range of surveying and land development projects.  Some of these projects include estate developments and subdivisions of all sizes, large scale electricity and road infrastructure projects, precise industrial engineering and alignment surveys, as well as many large-scale construction projects including facilities and plant for heavy industry, and sky-rise commercial buildings.

Dean Panton

Dean has retired as a Director in 2017 after being a Director of PDA Surveyors since 1993 and a Chartered Professional Engineer since 1980.  Dean will continue on with PDA Surveyors as a consultant.

After graduating from the University of Tasmania in 1975 Dean initially worked in Local Government before working for private companies in Melbourne, UK, Africa and Hobart. Since joining PDA Surveyors in 1992, Dean has been involved in the planning, design and supervision of infrastructure construction for residential and industrial developments throughout Tasmania. Dean has extensive experience in all aspects of municipal engineering and civil design and will ensure that all projects are designed and built to the municipal standards required with the most cost efficient solutions.

Mark Peacock

Mark was first registered as a Land Surveyor in January 1981 and became a Director of PDA Surveyors) in July 1981. He has had over 35 years experience undertaking cadastral and engineering surveys for Government, local authority and private clients.

Mark completed a Graduate Diploma of Business in Professional Management in 1993, became Business Manager in 1993 and has been the Managing Director located in the Hobart office since 2000. Mark has retired as a Director in 2016 but will continue as a consultant for until 2019.

Meredith McQueen

Meredith is a civil engineer with over 20 years’ experience working in the consulting engineering field. Meredith joined PDA Surveyors in 2002, where her primary role has been in the design, documentation, contract administration and supervision of land subdivisions. Meredith is an experienced designer of urban and rural roads, sewer, stormwater and water reticulation systems. At PDA Surveyors, Meredith has also developed her project management skills and her ability to progress all elements of a civil project to successful completion.

Meredith has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree from the University of Tasmania and is an active member of Engineers Australia. In 2013, Meredith formally achieved Chartered Status with Engineers Australia as a chartered practising engineer.

Matthew Reid

Matthew graduated for UTAS in 2005 with a Bachelor of Geomatics and in 2006 with Honours in Geomatics majoring in both GIS and Land Surveying.  Matthew has worked in a variety of roles across the surveying industry giving him experience in project management, GIS and all forms of surveying from engineering and construction to UAV surveying and cadastral surveying.

Matthew is a qualified UAV pilot and a certified member of both the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute and the Australian Institute of Project Management.  Matthew has an excellent knowledge of the modern technologies and how to use them most effectively and has given university lectures in this area.

Outside of work Matthew is a volunteer firefighter and has many sporting interests, including having represented Tasmania and Australia in multiple different sports.
